The men and women of Team Crossfit Afghanistan were recently inspired by Blake's non-profit Cupcakes for Cancer, so much so, that they held a charity work out to raise funds for The Band of Parents - a New Yotk based non-profit that funds pediatric cancer research for Neuroblastoma - a brain cancer that has only a 30% cure. In honor of 6 year old Conner, who lost his brave battle to Neuroblastoma this past spring, the men and women of Team Crossfit Afghanistan, gathered together for a Charity CUPCAKE WOD work out - definitely no piece of CAKE!!

"Sunday’s event was inspired by 18-year-old Blakely Colvin, of Solvang, the founder of Cupcakes for Cancer who went through chemotherapy from 7 to 10 years old. On Sunday, Blakely, now a student at college. fashioned a pink tutu with her two roommates.
“There is just something magical about rooms full of frosted cupcakes everywhere,” Colvin said. The concept for Cupcake Camp originated in San Francisco with Ariel Waldman. The first fundraiser was in 2009. In spring 2010, Colvin and her mother attended Cupcake Camp Seattle. “We did it just for fun because we were curious how it all worked,” she said. Experiencing the cupcake craze firsthand, they knew presenting Cupcakes for Cancer to the local community would be perfect."
